When we became owners of ARCH this last March, we were beyond excited to get into this world and this business and take it into the next level as a full functioning climbing gym. What we found was a wonderful place with absolutely incredible people who love to climb and love each other. We also found a space that needed a lot of maintenance and work. In the next few weeks we will start the process of giving all the walls a dearly needed repainting and texture. There are also plans to start regularly scheduled climbing classes, and we just welcomed Lauren Childress to start teaching yoga classes.
Sadly though, none of this is cheap and with rising energy costs, facility improvements and extra staff, the budget has been very tight. We had a very difficult summer keeping the doors open. Did you know that ARCH hasn’t had an across the board price adjustment in three years? We wanted to avoid raising prices for as long as possible, but it looks like that time has come. Through research and working with many different gyms, we have settled on a new price list. There will be some of you that are excited for these changes and others that are unable to pay more. If you are in the later group, we understand. We also hope you will return and find us worthy of the additional expense.
The one thing we ask you to do is to envision the gym we are building. Look to the future of what ARCH is becoming. It may feel like a stretch to pay increased amounts for floors and walls that are scuffed and peeling. When the bathroom fans haven’t worked in years and the ceiling tiles are ugly it may seem like too much money. But soon, all that will be fixed, and it’ll be your increased costs and your patience that made it happen.
Keep an eye out for new and recurring climbing courses where you can learn everything from understanding different types of holds, advanced movements, and training tips. Look forward to new walls and volumes with the right texture balance. We will also be adding membership levels, special events, promotions, and competitions. Our merchandise counter will be regularly stocked with new gear and ARCH merchandise. Additionally, all members will receive 2 free day passes per month so you can introduce your friends and family to climbing!
The Big Important Points
We are raising Prices On January 1. The ETF transfer on January 5 will reflect the new pricing. The New Price List is below
In December we will be upgrading our software to take advantage of RockGymPro’s features and streamline our products, services, and billing
If we run into questions about your account, we may be giving you a call. We will be honoring previous discounts, but if we don’t know why there is a discount we will need to find that out.
Going forward you will be billed for the entirety of the dues directly to ARCH and we will pay the coach. In the past, many of our club customers have been billed in part by ARCH and in part by a coach. We are doing this to simplify billing to you and do adopt an industry standard payment method.
All of these changes are to improve the gym and help make your experience the best possible.
